Healthcare Provider (HCP)

 







The American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for HCP course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen; use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. 


This class is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. 


This 6 hour program involves multiple learning activities: a video explaining the Chain of Survival, and instructor-led discussion of signs and symptoms of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking.  a demonstration of skills is provided and each participant will have their own manikin to practice CPR and other skills.  


A test will be issued at the end of the class with an 84% score for completion.  A BLS for HCP completion card will be issued.
